Where your trade actually stands.

The Google review bar. The website scorecard. The GBP setup most operators have wrong. The ops baseline. The buyer's actual questions. Measured the same way for 40 Australian trades, so you can stop guessing whether you're winning or losing.

The fight, in their own words

You've heard the line on every site, in every group, from every other tradie: "Good tradies don't need a website."

Some of that is true. The best ones are already booked out on word-of-mouth. But the line hides the bigger fight.

44% of Australian homeowners find a tradie by word-of-mouth¹ — which means more than half don't. And of the half who do, almost all of them are checking you on Google before they ring. The customer your mate referred. The one who saw your ute. The one who clicked your Google profile and is comparing you against five competitors on the same map pack — your photos, your reviews, your hours, your category — before you ever knew there was a quote in play.

So you get sold "more reviews", "a prettier site", "more leads", $750-a-month coaching, $200-a-lead platforms. By people who can't prove any of it moves the needle for your trade specifically. You buy because someone is selling.

The fight isn't whether you need to be online. It's that you've never had a yardstick. You can't fix what you can't measure.

The yardstick

40 trades, the same five measures, every trade.

We pulled real field data for 40 Australian trades and measured each one the same way. So when you open your trade's page, you're reading the same things the operator in the next suburb is reading.

The Google review bar
What a competitive Google Maps listing actually has — in your trade, in your metro. Bars vary ~4× by trade, so generic "get more reviews" advice is wrong.
The website scorecard
9 dimensions out of 45. What the best AU sites in your trade do, where most fail. The SEO/AI gap is the universal weak point: bottom-two dimension in 35 of 40 trades.
The GBP category
The Google Business Profile category most operators in your trade have set wrong. A one-click fix that suppresses ranking for thousands of tradies.
The ops baseline
Average job value, close rate, response speed, review behaviour, seasonality. Modelled honestly; every chain shown. So you can tell whether your numbers are good for your trade, or whether you've been told.
The buyer's actual questions
What your customers really ask before they ring — from the Need A Trade research base (more than 4,300 distinct homeowner accounts across 40 trades and 8 states). The seven questions you answer every site visit, now in writing.

Every figure is sourced (URL + date), modelled (chain shown), or labelled NOT FOUND. We never invent a number. Read the full methodology →
